3 Days/ 2 Nights Trip
Day 1: Nairobi to Nakuru
Morning:
- Depart Nairobi in the morning for Lake Nakuru National Park (approximately 2-2.5 hours drive).
- Arrive in Nakuru
and check into your lodge or hotel.
Late Morning:
- Head to Lake
Nakuru National Park, famous for its large population of flamingos
(though the numbers can vary depending on the season). The park is also
home to a variety of wildlife, including rhinos, giraffes, zebras, and
lions.
- Enjoy a game
drive to explore the park’s diverse landscapes—savannah, forests,
and wetlands.
Lunch:
- Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park or have lunch at
one of the lodges
Afternoon:
- Continue your game drive, and if you're lucky, you
might spot the white rhino
and the endangered black rhino.
You may also visit Baboon Cliff
for a panoramic view of the park and Lake Nakuru.
Evening:
- Return to your accommodation in Nakuru.
- Enjoy dinner at your lodge or hotel.
- Overnight in Nakuru.
Day 2: Nakuru to Naivasha (Lake Naivasha)
Morning:
- After breakfast, leave Nakuru and drive to Lake Naivasha (about 1.5 to 2
hours drive).
- Check in to your lodge or hotel at Lake Naivasha.
Late Morning:
- Head to Lake
Naivasha for a boat ride
on the lake. This is a great way to enjoy the calm waters and observe the
local birdlife, including pelicans,
herons, and kingfishers. You might also spot hippos wallowing in the water.
Lunch:
- Enjoy a delicious lunch at a lakeside restaurant or
your lodge. Many of the lodges offer amazing views of the lake and
delicious meals.
Afternoon:
- Visit Crescent
Island Game Sanctuary. You can take a boat to the island and enjoy
a walk with wildlife, where
you can see giraffes, zebras, gazelles, and even spot a few birds. It’s a
peaceful place where animals roam freely.
- Alternatively, visit Hell's Gate National Park (about a 30-minute drive from
Naivasha). It's known for its dramatic landscapes, including deep gorges,
hot springs, and geothermal vents. You can explore the park on foot, or by

Evening:
- Return to your lodge for dinner and relax by the lake
as you enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
- Overnight at Lake Naivasha.
Day 3: Naivasha to Nairobi (Optional Activities)
Morning:
- Start the day with a nature walk or bird
watching at the Lake
Naivasha. Alternatively, you could take a morning boat ride to enjoy the quiet morning hours and watch
hippos and birds before the day gets busy.
Late Morning:
- If you haven’t already, you could visit the Hell's Gate National Park for a
morning hike or bike ride. The park is one of the few in Kenya where you
can explore on foot or by bike, allowing for a more immersive experience.
Lunch:
- Enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the lakeside restaurants,
where you can enjoy a meal with scenic views.
Afternoon:
- After lunch, you can choose to visit the nearby Naivasha Town for some local
shopping or a quick exploration before heading back to Nairobi (approximately 1.5-2
hours drive).
Evening:
- Arrive back in Nairobi
in the late afternoon or evening, marking the end of your Nakuru-Naivasha adventure.
